Insight Strategy Advisors’s abstract submission for the 2010 European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS.eu ) Conference in Göteberg, Sweden has been accepted for publication.
The study, entitled “Impact of Multiple Sclerosis Disease-modifying Drugs on Health Care Costs: Application to the Swedish Health System,” analyzed the impact of adherence to disease-modifying therapy (DMT) for MS-related high-cost events in Sweden. This achievement represents an innovative approach to quantifying the cost-impact of non-adherence in a European environment.
“This study answers an unmet need that many government budget-holders and pharmaceutical executives have. This information can enhance discussions that government budget-holders, physician budget-holders and pharmaceutical companies are having around the importance of adherence and value-add programs to promote compliance,” remarked Cyrus A. Chowdhury, Vice President of the Global Market Access practice at Insight Strategy Advisors.
“We applied Swedish costs of events to patient-level claims and clinical data to help our clients answer long-standing cost-effectiveness questions in Europe,” explains Elena Castañeda, Analyst at Insight Strategy Advisors.
